Tissue chips, also known as organ-on-a-chip or microphysiological systems, are miniature, 3D engineered models of human organs or tissues created using microfluidic technology. These devices, roughly the size of a USB drive, contain living human cells and replicate the structure and function of specific organs, allowing researchers to study disease mechanisms, test drugs, and investigate how the body responds to various stimuli.
